So, grab your metaphorical front-row seat, because we’re about to revisit the runway magic that made London Fashion Week SS25 one for the books.
Burberry: Modern Heritage
Burberry, always a highlight of London Fashion Week, delivered once again. Creative director Daniel Lee presented a collection that seamlessly blended heritage with contemporary flair. Think oversized trench coats, reimagined check patterns, and sleek tailoring. The iconic Burberry plaid made appearances in unexpected ways, from head-to-toe ensembles to subtle accents. The fusion of tradition and innovation left us wanting more.
Tolu Coker: “Olapeju” – A Tribute to Heritage
Tolu Coker’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, titled “Olapeju,” was a heartfelt tribute to her mother. The runway transported guests into a world of personal and collective memories, transforming the space at 180 The Strand into a 60s and 70s inspired British-Nigerian living room. It was an immersive experience that encouraged conversations about heritage and identity.
The collection featured go-go boots, retro-patterned outfits, and unexpected accessories like umbrellas. Tan and beige mini-pleated skirts, PVC bottoms, and tailored suits stood out. Print-belted dresses and matching PVC waistcoats and skirts added to the eclectic mix.
JW Anderson: Playful Proportions
JW Anderson’s SS25 collection expanded on its whimsical mentality, but this time with a newfound elegance. The designer deftly balanced daily streetwear with elevated formalwear, resulting in a well-rounded wardrobe for any occasion.
The entire collection was crafted from just four materials: cashmere, leather, silk, and sequins. A minimalist palette, yet the possibilities were endless.
Anderson’s eye for detail was unmatched. He played with silk, leather, and glitter to create silhouettes that defied reality. Thigh-length dresses birthed faux hoodies with stamped drawstrings, while inflated bomber jackets transformed into voluminous one-piece looks.
Labrum London: Celebrating African Culture
Labrum London, led by designer Foday Dumbuya, celebrated African culture and craftsmanship. Their S/S 2025 collection was a fusion of tradition and modernity. The show was held at the Emirates Stadium in North London, home to Premier League hopefuls Arsenal and also featured their £100m man Declan Rice.
Sunday Best; Oxblood leather jackets, grey double-breasted coat dresses, pleated minidresses paired with colourful striped neckties, and indigo denim dresses with matching jackets paid homage to the tradition of dressing up for church in African households. Labrum London’s attention to detail and rich colour palette made a powerful statement.
Overall, London Fashion Week Fall 2024 celebrated diversity, experimentation, and individual expression. From established labels to emerging talents, the runways were alive with energy. Whether you crave timeless elegance or crave avant-garde audacity, this season had it all. As the style set departed London, they left behind a trail of inspiration—a reminder that fashion is a canvas where imagination knows no bounds.
