Playboi Carti drops anticipated new single ‘All Red’
Playboi Carti, the enigmatic Atlanta rapper known for his avant-garde style and genre-blending sound, has made waves once again with the release of his latest single, “All Red.” The track arrived on September 13, 2024, marking Carti’s return to streaming platforms after a hiatus since his 2020 album, Whole Lotta Red.
Produced by a stellar lineup including F1lthy, Ojivolta, Lucian, Lukrative, and Twisco, “All Red” is a two-and-a-half-minute sonic journey. Carti’s signature style is on full display—dark, cryptic, and unapologetically unique. The song opens with references to demonic and Satanic imagery, setting the tone for what follows. Carti’s lyrics weave threats of violence, reflections on relationships, and reminders of his individuality.
But “All Red” isn’t just a standalone single. It serves as the first glimpse into Carti’s highly anticipated third studio album, “I Am Music.” Fans have been eagerly awaiting this project, especially after the success of Whole Lotta Red. The album is scheduled for release in 2024 through AWGE and Interscope Records.
Carti’s journey toward “I Am Music” has been a rollercoaster. Initially teased as “Narcissist,” the album’s title evolved over time. Carti experimented with sounds, collaborated with fellow artists, and drew inspiration from punk, rap, and experimental music. His creative process led him to record much of the album in a cave-like studio in Paris, where he immersed himself for three months.
The promotional campaign for “I Am Music” began subtly, with Carti posting cryptic messages on Instagram. On December 7, 2023, he shared the phrase “I am music,” followed by Pharrell Williams’ enigmatic response: “Prepare.” DJ Akademiks fueled the hype, calling the album “the greatest thing you ever heard.” Carti then dropped the song “Different Day” with a captivating music video, further stoking anticipation.
As fans dissect every lyric and speculate about the album’s themes, Carti remains an enigma. But one thing is clear: “I Am Music” promises to be his most important work yet—a testament to his artistic evolution and boundary-pushing creativity.
So, whether you’re a die-hard Carti fan or a curious newcomer, keep your ears peeled for the full album—it’s bound to be an experience like no other.
