skaiwater drops infectious new single

Trailblazing artist skaiwater has now collaborated with rising sensation Lay Bankz on their electrifying new track “choosin u.” Infused with a pulsating Jersey club beat, both artists, known for their innovative flair, delve into the intricacies of relationships and the yearning to express love amidst uncertainty and the topic of choosing someone. Growing up, Skai would go to UK Garage parties which later led him to discovering Jersey club music and New Orleans bounce which highly inspired his sonic plate.  With poignant lyrics reflecting the complexities of human connection and an unmatchable club beat, the track radiates natural authenticity.

Previously skaiwater dropped single ‘good things.’ This single drops after the release of their ‘rave’ mixtape, a turning point of the journey that skaiwater has undertaken since their inventive sounds started catching the attention of listeners on Twitter a few years ago. They met Lil Nas X through that platform, became friends, and worked together on music—eventually garnering a writing credit on his 2020 hit “Holiday.” Their approach has won the attention of other gifted collaborators over the years, including their friend midwxst, who appeared on skaiwater’s single “Kamikaze Two” and the late Atlanta rapper Lil Keed, who gave a verse to “Work!” from skai’s first project Happy Hour, as well as Lil Uzi Vert on the remix of miles.

No slowing down in sight skaiwater announced they were opening for Lil Nas X’s “Long Live Montero Tour ”for European dates like London, Paris & Berlin, following the tour’s first leg of US dates a few weeks ago. Lil Uzi Vert has also taken a special interest in helping skaiwater further develop as both an artist & producer, with tracks like Lil Uzi graced remix of “#miles,” proving skaiwater always pushing themselves to discover new horizons for their music. In addition to the release of “choosin u,” Skaiwater has been announced as the supporting act on Kenny Mason’s “Route 9” Tour. Commencing this spring, the tour kicks off in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 22, with stops across California, New York, and Texas before wrapping in Los Angeles on May 3.

Earlier last summer, skaiwater dropped the similarly introspective “eyes,” which was preceded by “a lie,” a song that moves from sly acoustic whisper to shimmering maximalism, and “i don’t need u,” which serves as further evidence of his longtime fluency in club music. The original version of “#miles,” which came out in May, was a refreshingly minimal showcase of the artist’s pliable voice. These tracks have already connected with fans too—”#miles” has already garnered over 7.4M streams, while hitting the Top 10 US Songs on TikTok. It also recently earned skai a feature in YouTube’s Trending Artist on the Rise. Following

suit “eyes” has resonated worldwide too, reaching #3 on TikTok’s US Top Songs, making skaiwater one of the only rising artists to have had 2 songs in the US Top 10 tracks on TikTok.

All of this work has established skaiwater as one of the most daring, innovative young artists to surface in years.
